One type of Laser eye surgery is Lasik Surgery. What you must absolutely know is that it consists of a real operation and that it takes quite a while after the operation to have your vision corrected. There are many uncomfortable effects during the period after the lasik surgery. Today as i was surfing on the Internet, I found a blog where a women describes what she went through. Honnestly it calmed me down and makes you think whether to proceed with Lasik surgery!
Basically from what she says is that there is a long and especially difficult healing period after the lasik surgery. The symptoms were the following, at first some blurry vision for several days, then she had double vision for a couple of weeks and here eyes felt dry so she had to take drops ... Some comments of people say that it is impossible to work with these symptoms, so i would recommend taking some holidays after your surgery!
Three months after her first surgery she had a wavefront lasik enhancement and the day following this operation allowed here to have a 20/20 vision so that was good, but unfortunately she had pain in her eyes and could not see from close! This took 3 weeks to heal and get back to normal.
The good part is that everything is fine for here now and she has a 20/20 vision, but what a fuss and difficult healing! Poor women, i really do hope not everyone has a so long and difficult healing! But i guess that since her lasik surgery was done in 2004, technology has evolved and therefore helps quicker healing! For more information please visit her article.

My Laser Eye Treatment Experience
Step by Step by Mohammad Faisal
I had laser eye treatment week ago and now my vision is better than before and now I got rid of wearing glasses. I am going to share my experience of having laser eye surgery. I have tried to put maximum information so you will find what will be happening, I have written my entire journey of Laser Eye in steps. So let’s start;
Introduction
I am male 26 living in Manchester, England. I was short sighted means had problems seeing things from Distance. My sight was around -2.00 for both eyes.
I have been wearing glasses since January 2000. I have to wear glasses all the times. It was not a problem for me to wear glasses until one day my son broke my glasses and I have to wait few days before I can receive the new one. I had all sorts of problems and I felt very handicap. I thought, why I don’t go for Laser Eye treatment and get rid of glasses, I googled and try finding the good laser eye treatment people, I seen advert of Optical Express. I went to their website and read about the different treatments.
Booking consultation
After reading online, I gave them ring to book an appointment and they told me its going to be next day but I refused as I was busy with my work. There was some space available after 4 days which suits me and I confirmed and booked it. They told me to bring my latest prescription.
Consultation day
I went on consultation, staff was very kind and helpful, they welcomed me very well.
First they test my eyes, checked my latest eye prescription (I had the test 6 months ago) it was pretty much the same, they checked for any eye infection, and told me about how they are going to test for am I suitable or not? they will be doing several tests before they can make final decision on me having surgery. The need to check thickness of pupil if its going to be less than 7mm or not, if its less than 7mm, than its okay and I can have surgery.
First I was measured and it was around 5.5mm but doctor told me they need to put drop to check further and after drop it stretched but it was pretty much the same. I am suitable and he told because of my eye sight I will have good results and they will last for long time I was very happy and excited and now there were many different procedures he told me he would prefer if I choose Lasik with ultra lase in this type of surgery flap of eye will be created by machine and no pain no cuts or needles involve all done by machine, whole procedure will take around 20 mins but now the question was how much it will cost??? I was told £395 for Lasik + £300 for ultra lase so for 1 eye it will cost me £695
Finance
I made £200 deposit and I have to make the rest payment once they will find when I can have the surgery, the found next day laser eye appointment available after 3 days of the consultation, I made the payment was ready for the surgery.
Treatment day
I woke up early that day and was thinking about today what’s going to happen? I went with my brother to the place where I will be having my treatment. It took us around 20 minutes to reach there. There were 10 people already waiting to have surgery, I seen couple of people whom just came out of surgery room wearing dark glasses some had water coming out of their eyes and the eyes were also red but they could see. I was nervous at start but after sitting there for few minutes I was feeling relax and comfortable. I was seen by nurse for eye sight test and after 15mins surgeon came and explain me how the procedure will be happening and he made final checks on my eyes and told me he will call in few minutes
Operation theatre
After 20 minutes they call me inside, they ask me to lay down and straightaway nurse put some drops to delouse my eyes. It took 4 minutes to take effect and I can see kind of blurred and than doctor came, he moved me to the machine. Machine had white lights on, he told me to look up for few seconds, later I found it was the machine to create flap on my eye. In 7minutes they created the flaps for my both eyes. After that I was move to another machine for laser treatment and doctor told me to hold 20sec that’s what he requires from me, and it its very important not to move on that time. I was bit sacred but that red dot I have to see didn’t harm me in anyway, like I didn’t feel warm or itchy while I was looking at that dot, I try not to move myself and look on that dot without even breathing. Doctor was counting number and tell me we are their and very good very good, excellent. It took us only 5/6 minutes for both eyes. And basically that was the laser treatment, as soon as they finish they told me to get up and tell me to outside and wait for nurse.
After 10mins of Laser Treatment
I was trying to open my eyes and see things, but because of drops I could see the things in blurred vision. For few seconds I was not able to open my eyes, and was feeling my eye lids little heavy than normal. After some time nurse came with the small bag and told me their some drops which I need to put into my eyes after every 2/3hours and come back tomorrow for check up. I asked about can I use water, she told me No, for 1 week try not to use water around eyes because water can have Bactria on them which can create infection. And she told me go home and have some rest and once your eyes settle down your vision will be better. I asked is there any chance that it didn’t work she told me with kind of guarantee No Way!
Home
I went my brother to the car and that time eyes were feeling heavy and itchy like they have some thing on them, but I couldn’t scratch as doctor told me not to so. They also give me this wired looking glasses to wear while I sleep, so I couldn’t scratch while I am sleeping. When I reached my room, I was really feeling itchy and uncomfortable, it was bit of annoying time, when I couldn’t do anything, then I remember why not get some sleep with the help of Parcetamol, so, I took the tablet and within few mins I went to sleep for almost 4hours, when I woke up all change my vision was normal and I could see things from distance but the problem was still the eyelids I couldn’t open my eyes for long time and I tried not to open as well. I tried resting for a bit and than it was around 11pm I went to my bed and straightaway I went to sleep.
After 24hours
I woke next day this time my eye lids were normal. I could see things in bright colours. I was very happy, I went on next day appointment, doctor checked and told me every thing is okay but I had some redness around my eyeballs, I asked why is that and how long will it take to go. Doctor told me it will go after some time while they performing surgery it happens but it won’t be painful or itchy but looks really weird.
After 7 Days
I can see better now and my eyes are pretty normal I don’t have any problems with reading or night vision. Also the redness around eyeball is nearly finish.
I am very pleased with my surgery, and have some thoughts why I didn’t choose before but they say “There’s set time for a thing to happen”.
